Economic Evolution:iA Just Economy = A Just Society

In 2004, and again in 2006, I ran as a candidate for the Canadian Action Party (CAP)! In reaction to the 1995 budget, CAP was founded in 1997 by The Hon. Paul T. Hellyer, Deputy Prime Minister of Canada in the Trudeau Government. Fundamental to CAP policies is using the Bank of Canada to replace money privatization with public money to be used for building public infrastructure and funding social programs- not (as is the current 'cut and slash' policy) either neglecting, or tearing them apart.

The NDP 2004 Platform contains a statement on using the Bank of Canada to carry public debt- under “Clear Choices on Debt Reduction” it reads as follows:
“Jack Layton and Canada’s NDP will give Canada clear choices on debt reduction by bringing some of Canada’s national debt under the control of the Bank of Canada, as it used to be, and paying the interest to ourselves as opposed to chartered banks."

Efforts have been made at the municipal level to acquire low-cost funding through the Bank of Canada. Such efforts have been stonewalled, or otherwise unsuccessful. The usual answer given is that to use the Bank of Canada 'would cause inflation'. This makes no sense. We are talking about HOW our money is created, not HOW MUCH is being created...

One must understand what is at stake: if even one nation-state is successful in intelligently using its own central bank on behalf of its own people, it will stand as an example to all the other developed and developing nations of the world.
The Dream of Canada, if realized, could become The Dream of the World.
There is no exaggeration here. This would entail a radical shift from current debt enslavement to a work-based economy! (And there is no reason why this could not be done by peaceful means.)
There is, therefore, tremendous pressure applied by those with a vested interest (political, academic, financial) in the status quo to assure that this does not occur...

...Nevertheless, let us see what The Dream of Canada might look like...
